Chulapa Punki now has a companion. We present Chulapo Churro, a character who strolls around with his signature cap adorned with a parakeet, that little bird that arrived in Madrid from South America in the early 2000s and is now just another resident of the city, found in parks, woods, and groves. To mark the San Isidro festival on May 15, when chulapas and chulapos don their finest attire on the Madrid meadow by the river, this Chulapo Churro carries the most iconic product of Madrid in his hand: a churro. An illustration that captures the essence of Madrid's tradition, where the classic coexists with the contemporary, and where even foreign birds have become part of the capital's identity.
